FHSS Undiksha and University of Malaya Sign Implementation Arrangement on Community Service Learning Program
13/05/2025 – The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (FHIS Undiksha), has further expanded its international collaboration by establishing a strategic partnership with the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. Both institutions officially signed an Implementation Arrangement on Community Service Learning Program aimed at integrating academic learning with meaningful contributions to society.
The program is designed as a platform for lecturers and students from both universities to jointly plan and implement community service activities with a cross-national perspective. Activities will include education, mentoring, and community empowerment initiatives in the fields of law, education, and social sciences, tailored to local needs.
Dean of FHIS Undiksha Prof.Dr. I Nengah Suastika, S.Pd., M.Pd., emphasized that this collaboration reflects the essence of the university’s tri dharma. “Through this program, students will not only learn theories in the classroom but also strengthen their social awareness, leadership skills, and sensitivity to real-life community issues, all while gaining an international perspective,” he noted.
A representative from the University of Malaya highlighted that the program aligns with the university’s mission of ensuring that knowledge serves society at large. “This collaboration provides opportunities to exchange experiences, cultural values, and academic approaches, allowing us to generate more comprehensive and sustainable solutions for communities,” they remarked.
As part of the follow-up, FHIS Undiksha and UM will jointly develop community-based learning models, organize field programs, and document the outcomes of their initiatives for academic publication and future reference.
